Attendance Policy

As of now, class will take place over Zoom. Your instructor will communicate your class time to email prior to class starting. If you have not heard about your class time prior to the week class starts, please contact your instructor or the general mailbox to determine when class starts.

 

Students are expected to join Zoom five minutes before class starts. Students who join more than five minutes after class starts may not be able to participate in class, may have a worse experience in class, or could fail to produce an app.

 

App Policy

Lack of Guarantee

Although the majority of VineyardAppCamp students release apps on the AppStore, there is no guarantee of that result at the end of class. VineyardAppCamp will submit the students' app to the AppStore, but Apple has stringent requirements, which can lead to an app being rejected. Reasons for apps failing to launch successfully include students’ using technologies or design elements rejected by Apple, poor focus during class, or unexpected contestation from Apple.

 

Release Timeline

Launching an app on the AppStore is a multi-step process that can take up to a month. Often, no matter the experience of the developers, Apple submits multiple rounds of feedback, over the course of several weeks, before an app can go live. Often, VineyardAppCamp can take up to two weeks after class ends to submit students’ apps, meaning that AppStore release can take several months.

 

VineyardAppCamp will communicate about milestones related to AppStore release via email.

App Legal Rights and Management

All legal rights from the student’s app, and all revenues, belong to the student and not to VineyardAppCamp. VineyardAppCamp will launch the app using our company developer account, thus allowing the student to avoid incurring costs needed to open a developer count with Apple. However, upon any revenue due to purchases from the App, VineyardAppCamp will contact parents and children and set up direct deposit of revenue.

 

Many students’ apps utilize Vineyard AppCamp’s servers and databases to function. VineyardApp will provide server resources for students’ apps for 6 months after the course. After 6 months, students may continue to have their apps hosted on VineyardAppCamp servers, for $10 a month. VineyardAppCamp can also assist students in finding other server resources that they can use to house their app.

Media Release

I, as parent/guardian, permit VineyardAppCamp to use pictures of my child(ren) as a program participant in promotional literature, videos, and the VineyardAppCamp website. I understand my child(ren)’s name(s) will not be published. 

 

I, as parent/guardian of ______________________ (“Child”), hereby assume all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities at VineyardAppCamp. My Child is fit for the program(s) in which I have enrolled him/her. I HERELY RELEASE AND SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS RELEASEES FROM EVERY CLAIM AND ANY LIABILITY THAT I OR MY CHILD MAY ALLEGE AGAINST RELEASEES (including reasonable legal fees and costs) BECAUSE OF MY CHILD’S PARTICIPATION IN ANY VINEYARDAPPCAMP PROGRAMS , WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERS TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. I PROMISE NOT TO SUE RELEASEES ON MY BEHALF OR ON BEHALF OF MY CHILD REGARDING ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO MY CHILD’S PARTICIPATION IN ANY VINEYARDAPPCAMP PROGRAM(S). I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT, BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, I AM RELEASING VINEYARDAPPCAMP AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, MEMBERS, SPONSORS, PROMOTERS, AND AFFILIATES (COLLECTIVELY “RELEASEES”) FROM LIABILITY, AND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS. THIS SIGN UP AND RELEASE FORM IS A CONTRACT WITH LEGAL AND BINDING CONSEQUENCES AND IT APPLIES TO ALL ACTIVITIES IN WHICH MY CHILD ENGAGES DURING CAMP REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH ACTIVITY IS A PART OF A FORMAL PROGRAM. I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. I UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS RELEASE MEANS AND WHAT I AM AGREEING TO BY SIGNING. By registering for this program, I understand and agree that if a portion of the program is unable to be completed due to unforeseen circumstances under responsibility of VineyardAppCamp, I will receive a prorated credit on my account for the uncompleted portion of the program. I also understand that no refunds or proration will be given for any other reason.
